The city of Hiroshima wants nothing more than to convey its intense desire for world peace. The coronavirus has made it impossible to host the tens of thousands of visitors who usually visit during the first two weeks of August, but paradoxically, the virus has made clear the extent to which we are all members of a global society. So this year, since we can’t have you come here, we’ll take Hiroshima to you. When we told some of Hiroshima’s friends around the world we want to broadcast all Hiroshima Day, they were quick to fill the entire 24-hour schedule. So now, you’ll be able to sit in your own living room and first, visit Hiroshima for the Peace Memorial Ceremony, then visit with talented, peace-loving musicians and artists in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. And, this could be the start of something new.
